"Helen in a snit once again. Andy should have asked her but man this woman doesn't like to be questioned about anything does she? And since Helen wasn't with law enforcement, it seems to me she was still breaking the law. I guess that's a pretty good excuse no matter what she got caught doing? "I was just doing research for my college thesis." Wow. " - Ken from New Jersey

"This episode is one of the better "color" episodes of Andy Griffith in that it had a pretty good plot. There's a funny scene when they're having dinner and everyone's trying to appear relaxed but no one is. Good stuff." - DAN from ESCONDIDO

" I have seen this episode in its entirety once and the last ten or fifteen minutes again today. The synopsis is basically correct. However, it is not Helen, but Andy who offers an explanation of Helen's past in front of the school board. The evaluations have been harsh. Considering the fact that this was supposed to be a small town in NC way back in the 1960's, for an elementary or middle school teacher to have been seen going to jail and allegedly playing cards with a "hoodlum" in a "house of ill repute" just 9 years before the rumor broke out would have been fairly shocking to these town folk. And I found the irony that it was Helen's boyfriend Andy who almost got her into deep water intriguing! " - Jeff Caldwell from California

"Some people say that they really pulled out the stops for the final season, and this ep. is proof. Helen arrested? Dude...no way! Even though she wasn't REALLY a criminal, just the thought is almost incomprehensible. Perhaps that's the beauty of Mayberry - it isn't too normal for a little surreality." - strangeperky from California
