"I once had a very brave greenish budgie. His name was Bert.
I bought him when he was a baby, and I named him Bert after the
Sesame Street character Bert.
Every morning when I woke up, Bert would sing and chirrup and
trumpet as loud as he could. When I finally tamed him, I tried
to teach him some tricks. Turns out that he didn't want to learn,
but he enjoyed sitting on a green clothes hanger and riding on
like he was on a ferris wheel. He was a funny bird, always acting
like a big ham, and liking himself when he looked into the mirror.
Bert was always a fighter, and even when he became really sick,
he fought it to the death.
Dave, you are very lucky that you have Gatesey. Enjoy every moment
